University of Science & Technology Bannu - UST Bannu

The University of Science & Technology Bannu (UST Bannu) was established in 2005.

The University of Science & Technology Bannu was inagurated by Former Chief Minister of N.W.F.P. Honorable Akram Khan Durrani in year 2005 and is now one of the best universities of the country, providing high class facilities and studies environment whose students after study have gone into different parts of the country and even out of the country and have shown their skills.

UST Bannu is paving towards the journey to impart high quality education in the fields of Life Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Business Studies and Humanities. Since its inception, the UST Bannu is pursuing its mission successfully.

The UST Bannu is established under Provincial Assembly Act and is recognized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).

Presently UST Bannu campuses are in city and the development of new campus is in progess at Bannu Town.


University of Engineering & Technology, Bannu Campus

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) has a campus in Bannu.

The UET Bannu campus affiliated with the University of Engineering and Technology U.E.T, Peshawar was founded in 2002 by Former Governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah and is now one of the best institutes of the area, providing high class engineering students whose students after study have gone into different parts of the country and have shown their skills.

Many achievements have been done in this field.

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) has recognized this campus and now the registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (P.E.C) is also done.

The University has produced great engineers like Abu Bakr Sahibzada, Khuram Shahzad and Muhammad Shoaib.


Bannu Medical College

Ex-Chief Minister Akram Khan Durani founded BMC (Bannu Medical College) on the 31st of August 2006. The Government announced 100 seats (open merit) for BMC will be available. The basic aim of BMC is to produce medical graduates locally. Four other Medical colleges exist (Govt based), but for quite sometime, it was felt that Bannu needed its own Medical college. Presently the principal of Bannu Medical College is Mr. Omer Ali Khan (former principal of KMC Peshawar). BMC is located near the Women's Hospital, Bannu. Currently, classes are taken in the newly constructed building of Govt High School No, 3. Work on the College's own building is expected to start in Bannu Township very soon.
